Welcome back to your favorite desktop drive-in. As promised, we are continuing our month long Fred Williamson film fest. This time we’ve got 3 action packed movies with a little something for everyone and a whole lot of that Williamson coolness that the ladies love so much.
Death Journey
Fearing that their star witness will be killed, the feds hire private eye and ex-cop Jessie Crowder to transport the man across country. A lot of people try to tangle with Fred in this one and, of course, a lot of people die.
Mean Johnny Barrows
Decorated Marine Johnny Barrows is harassed by his superior officer and promptly punches the asshole in the face. This, of course, causes him to be dishonorably discharged. Once back in the states Johnny has trouble finding and keeping a job and eventually ends up working as a hitman for the local crime boss.
Joshua
Joshua returns home after the end of the Civil War to discover that his mother has been murdered by a gang of white thugs. Enraged, he rides out on a bloody trail of revenge.

Well, another Thanksgiving is behind us, as is another frantic day of shopping for those dumb enough to do it. Well, far be it from your Dollar Movie Drive-in to not be topical. So, this evening, I have a couple blacksploitation flicks for you in celebration of “Black Friday” and both are definitely left over turkeys.
TNT JACKSON
A hard hitting lady bad-ass heads to Asia in search of the drug lords that murdered her brother. Ass beating and bad acting explode across the screen! Oh, and lets take a moment and be thankful for Jeanne Bell’s topless karate fight. God bless us, every one.
THE GUY FROM HARLEM
OK, anyone who has actually seen TNT Jackson knows that if I’m making that movie the A picture, this one must be a whole new level of craptastic. They would be correct. This movie is one of the worst, most ineptly made terribly acted, awfully choreographed pieces of crap that you will ever fall in love with. If you have a taste for the terrible you will definitely want to check this one out.

A young black man is brutally killed by a white biker gang when its leader discovers that the young man has been dating his sister. The murdered man’s brother is the leader of his own biker gang, the titular Black Six. When he learns of his brother’s death he and his buddies set out for revenge.

Leroy is a tough as nails street fighter who gets involved with mob in order to make money. When he wants to turn his life around and tries to get out, the gangsters murder his wife. This, of course, causes our protagonist to embark on bloody trail of revenge. This is a pretty good blacksploitation flick with some pretty realistic fights.

Do things seem a littler cooler around here, a little more groovy? Well all that extra soul and 70s funk in the air around the concession stand is because for the entire month of February, DMD is going black…..blackxploitation that is. You’ll have to wait until March to see if we can go back.
The plot for tonight’s movie is pretty simple. A black crime lord who has worked his way from the streets engages in a war with white mobsters for control of the drug trade in his part of the city. There isn’t really a lot more to it that that. A lot of blackspoitation movies are like martial arts flicks and spaghetti westerns in that there are only about 4 or 5 plots that are reused over and over. It is left up to the individual movies to make something out of them. The Black Godfather is pretty fun, with enough car chases, gun fights, and scenes of hero just beeing cool to keep genre fans happy.

A group of American soldiers stationed in the Philippines stage a daring robbery of gold and jewels. After they have made their escape, however, the team turns on one of its members, slitting his throat and throwing him into the sea. They believe him dead, but he makes his way to a tiny island where he is rescued by two old Japanese soldiers who don’t know Word War II is over. They nurse him back to health and, in time, team him martial arts and the ways of the samurai. Once he feels that he is ready, our double crossed surviver heads back to the states with a sharpened Katana and the taste for a little payback.

Happy Thanksgiving drive-in fans. I have a little holiday treat for you to enjoy while you slip comfortably into a a Tryptophan induced coma after dinner tonight. I give you, Jive Turkey, the story of super cool, super smooth numbers kingpin Pasha and his fight against the encroaching Italian mod and the local police. This low budget, action, crime thriller is probably one of the most fun blacksploitation movies that you have never seen. Plenty of shoot-outs, car chases, double-crosses, and 70s awesomeness put a smile on your face as you polish of that last piece of pumpkin pie. Oh, and as a special Thanksgiving treat, Jive Turkey throws in a deadly transvestite assassin at no additional cost to you. Enjoy….
